Small Groups at St. B.

Jesus had small groups, his closest friends, and the larger small group of his disciples, and because of those relationships, his ministry in the world was more effective. If Jesus behaved in this manner, we can be confident that this is God’s way. As Jesus said, “I pray that they may be one in us, so that the world may believe that you sent me. I have given them the glory you gave me that they may be one, as we are one.” (John 17:21-22)

A small group is a place where you can be known and know others and listen for God’s movement in your life through connecting for meaningful conversation and to grow in your faith and understanding of God’s call in your life. We continue to add small groups and opportunities to connect. If you need help finding a small group or have an idea for a group, please let us know!

Sundays

SUNDAY REFLECTION GROUP

Join Rev. Jane and Rev. Greg between the services for a reflection on different topics related to faith and life. Our current study is on the book, Being Christian: Baptism, Bible, Eucharist, Prayer by Archbishop Rowan Williams.

In this accessible yet deeply insightful book, Williams invites us to explore the foundational practices of our faith — Baptism, reading Scripture, celebrating the Eucharist, and engaging in Prayer. Grounded in the richness of our tradition, these reflections speak to the questions of contemporary life, offering wisdom for both longtime believers and those new to the journey of faith. If you’ve ever wondered why we do what we do as Christians and want to deepen your understanding of these core practices, this group is for you.  All are welcome for conversation and community every Sunday at 9 a.m.

Mondays

LIFE OF PRAYER REFLECTION GROUP

Each Monday we gather in the Chapel of the Rose to learn and practice a variety of forms of prayer.

Our next themed study begins Monday, September 22, for a four-week reflection series led by author and parishioner, Kendra Lacy, on her latest book Find Something Beautiful. Find Something Beautiful is a collection of meditative essays and prayers that delve into the beauty of nature, the changing seasons, and the spiritual lessons we can learn from the world around us. From the first blooms of spring to the quiet moments of winter, each piece invites readers to find beauty and meaning in everyday life.
