Harmony for Habitat Benefit Concert 2021
St. Barnabas - Church
On Sunday, Sept. 5, St. Barnabas will host its annual concert to raise money for Habitat for Humanity of Greater Cincinnati's ongoing mission to build affordable homes for families.
Three musically gifted St. Barnabas parishioners will lead the way in the 3 p.m. concert: pianist and concert organizer Michael Chertock, opera singer Kara Shay Thomson, and singer/ choir director Joshua Goines, along with the Choir of St. Barnabas.
We are also honored to have guest performers from the Cincinnati Symphony Orchestra. The musical menu will include an array of classical and vocal selections.
Thanks to the generosity of these musicians who share their talents with us, we are able to increase our church's financial support of Habitat's home-building efforts in the Cincinnati region. Families who qualify to become buyers of Habitat homes must put in "sweat equity" work on their homes (a total of 250 hours of work per adult leader of a family) in exchange for receiving no-interest mortgage loans to attain their dreams of home ownership.
Communities where these houses are constructed stand to benefit by having more taxpaying homeowners in their jurisdictions.
As always, our concert is free. We simply ask that our audience make financial donations to Habitat in any amount, either directly to Habitat's Cincinnati office or through St. Barnabas, which forwards the donations to Habitat. Contributions can be
made by cash, check or through a Venmo account.
The concert will be live-streamed and will be available online for two days after the original performance. To view the concert online, go to our home page and click on "Live-stream and Service Recordings" in the Quick Links box.
Please join us, either in person on Sept. 5 or online. For those who attend in person, please know that we are encouraging everyone to wear face masks, out of courtesy for attendees who may be more vulnerable to Covid infection.
