Office Manager & Parish Life Coordinator

St. Barnabas Episcopal Church, in Montgomery, is a growing multicultural and multi-generational community that provides opportunities for worship, ministries and fellowship activities for all persons. We are seeking a part-time Office Manager and Parish Life Coordinator who will be responsible for overseeing all church operations and coordinating parish life activities, while helping to build relationships with our communities. The successful candidate will be a welcoming presence in our church, and a primary source of information about the church’s programs and services.

Requirements

  • An Associate's degree or above in business, office management, or related field.

  • 2 years' office or administrative experience.

  • Excellent written and verbal communication and interpersonal skills.

  • Strong computer skills and ability to operate office equipment, experience with Microsoft Office, Google Suite, Canva, Constant Contact is preferred.

  • Good organizational ability. 

Essential Duties & Job Description

Our office manager will coordinate our office and parish life activities and serve as a community ambassador for the church and helping to coordinate new member engagement and building usage. We are seeking someone who can oversee the parish office and keep us organized through a data management system. This person will also have responsibility for print and digital publications including weekly bulletins, weekly email newsletter, and special events.

  • Welcome community members, parishioners, and new people to our church.

  • Market our facility and manage our building usage.

  • Produce weekly digital and print communications materials including Sunday bulletins and a weekly Constant Contact newsletter.

  • Track members and visitors in our church management database.

  • Coordinate parish and community life activities.

  • Develop relationships with members and support volunteers and staff.

  • Maintain daily office operations and systems.

  • Good organizational skills and ability to handle stress and solve problems.

  • Ability to keep confidential and sensitive information.

  • A commitment to representing the church with professionalism and kindness.

  • Demonstrate good work ethic as a pursuit of excellence; embody qualities such as being conscientious, self-motivated, prompt, showing respect for others, etc.

  • Complete a background check. 

Compensation & Hours

Compensation: $20.00 per hour and eligible for lay pension.

Hours: 25-28 hours a week. Tuesday, Wednesday, Thursday in office 9 a.m - 3 p.m., other hours are flexible and could be worked remotely if desired.
