Habitat for Humanity of Greater Cincinnati

What they do:

Habitat for Humanity of Greater Cincinnati is a non-profit Christian housing ministry that seeks to build strength, stability, and self-reliance through shelter. Since 1986, Habitat for Humanity of Greater Cincinnati has built, renovated, or repaired more than 630 homes throughout the tri-state area. It has also contributed to building more than 1,000 homes globally in Armenia, Cambodia, El Salvador, and Kenya. Habitat is dedicated both locally and globally to construct, rehabilitate and preserve homes; advocate for fair and just housing policies; and provide training and access to resources to help families improve their shelter conditions.

How we help:

St. Barnabas provides funding support each year to Habitat for Humanity of Greater Cincinnati through the church's outreach budget. We also host an annual benefit concert to raise additional money for Habitat.

Our parishioners have the options of giving directly to Habitat, or supporting its home-building operations by donating building materials or furnishings to Habitat's ReStore, which sells those items to the public at a discount to generate revenues for building affordable houses for families.

St. Barnabas also organizes parishioners to volunteer at Habitat build sites.
