Endowment Fund Receives Three New Gifts

by Nancy Nolan

Three new contributions were bestowed to the St. Barnabas Endowment Fund in 2018! Parishioner Nancy Lewis has made a bequest in her estate plan; Jean Miller and Jim and Jada Hill have contributed gifts of cash or stock. This brings our number of donor units to 13. The endowment cash fund is nearing $50,000. Once it reaches $100,000, the Endowment Committee will recommend to the Vestry that they may begin to spend up to 5% of the principal in the fund.

Nancy Lewis said, “St. Barnabas is my church home, and I am pleased to be able to support it in this way.” Jean Miller commented that “this is my way of fostering Christ’s work in the future.” Jada and Jim Hill said, “We want St. Barnabas to develop a strong endowment to sustain and grow our parish and ministries."

The St. Barnabas Endowment Fund offers another great way for you to honor someone’s special achievement (a birthday, graduation, new baby) or a memorable event (anniversary, celebration of a life well lived.) You can donate an amount that feels right to you, and add a message about the honoree to be added to the memorial donation page in our endowment book, located in the Chapel. And remember that none of the funds you contribute will ever be spent, but saved in perpetuity for the future of the church.
