Our Director of Communications, Nicole A. Hershey, will be handling more of the family ministry-related communications.
A graduate of the University of Alabama with a B.S. degree in Human Environmental Sciences, Molly majored in Human Development and Family Studies with a concentration in Child Life. She ended up in Cincinnati after she took an internship at Children’s Hospital that turned into a job. “I work as a child life specialist in same-day surgery,” she explained. “I work with kids and their families to decrease fear and anxiety.” For the past year and a half, she has helped promote positive coping in the health care environment.
Although Molly was born and raised in Alabama, she doesn’t have the typically southern accent. She explains that this is because her “mother is from Philly” and her dad is from Dayton. Back in Birmingham, she has her parents, a younger sister and a dog who, according to Molly, is the favorite child.
Molly is also full of energy in her free time. At one time, Molly was a competitive dancer in tap, jazz, and lyrical, which is like ballet but with emotional overtones. She now dances with DanceFix in Cincinnati, a 60 minute high-energy dance work out class featuring a warm up, a toning session, and 45 minutes of original choreography. And just for fun? She does ultimate Frisbee and kickboxing.
Raised in an Episcopal Church in Alabama, Molly said, “I am excited to give back the great experiences I had there.”
