Spring is Calling

by Kirk Murray

As Debbie and I were getting our daily dose of Vitamin D at our local park, my senses started talking to me. A warm breeze told me that in spite of our situation, spring is going to come. Spring doesn’t know about the Coronavirus. It doesn’t know about sheltering in place. It doesn't know about social distancing, washing your hands often, and not touching your face. It will be here no matter what.

The streams were running over the rocks and gurgling like nothing was wrong. The birds were chirping, seemingly louder than usual. The trees were popping with buds and leaves regardless. The grass is already telling me to mow my lawn. Even the deer were giving the “headlights” look like everything is normal.

Spring is calling me, calling you, calling us. The breeze, the streams, the birds, the trees, and even the deer are telling us that everything will be ok, we just need to give it some time.
