St. Barnabas Sunday Celebration

On Sunday, June 13, we celebrated our namesake, St. Barnabas! We began the 10 a.m. service with an outdoor procession, led by our children's ministry. We welcomed Pastor Nancy for a belated celebration of her retirement last July. She was the preacher and celebrant. You can re-watch a recording of the service on our YouTube page.

During the service, we presented Pastor Nancy with a handmade weaving created by our parishioner Andrea Anderson. It includes one of Pastor Nancy's favorite benedictions: "Life is short, and there is little time to gladden the hearts of those who travel with us. So be swift to love, and make haste to be kind." The weaving will hang in the Chapel of the Rose, commemorating Pastor Nancy's ministry at St. Barnabas.

During Church School, kids of all ages learned about St. Barnabas the Encourager during a special Godly Play story. Our 4th and 5th grade students made special crafts with Miss Kara Shay.

After the services, we enjoyed a picnic together in the back parking lot. It was a wonderful day of celebrations!
