Termites Keep Building in Tip-Top Shape

by David Browe

Even though we are worshiping from home, the St. Barnabas Termite volunteers are working to keep our facility in good repair, following recommended Covid-19 guidelines of course.

Dave Seagram has been working to refinish the water stained windowsills in the great hall. Amy Rosenberg has been keeping our landscaping in good shape. Clark Crabill took the lead on having our undercroft floors buffed and waxed. We have installed a portable dehumidifier in the undercroft to supplement the air conditioning and control moisture. The first level HVAC units have been turned off while the building is not in use.

Tom Kirkpatrick donated the material, labor, and technical expertise of his company, ECO Engineering, to replace all the first level halogen and CFL lighting with energy efficient LED lighting. The difference is amazing, both in illumination and projected energy savings.

We have recently had our roof, flashing, and gutters professionally inspected and repaired as necessary.

We are grateful for the excellent work of our volunteers and want to assure everyone that our facility will be ready for our return.
