Welcome Aboard, Joshua Goines!

It is with great pleasure that we officially welcome the new Director of Choirs, Joshua Goines.

Joshua is a 2019 graduate of Andrews University in Berrien Springs, MI where he earned a B.A. in organ, with emphasis in choral conducting. He brings a wealth of experience having prior experience as a church organist, director of music, choral director, and handbell director. He has trained and conducted youth choirs at the 5th-8th grade levels, and he has trained and conducted rehearsals and toured with auditioned chorales. During his college years, he served as organist and accompanist for several churches in Michigan and northern Indiana.


Born and raised in New Orleans, Louisiana, Joshua joined the New Orleans Children’s Chorus where he received a scholarship to sing with them for four years. During his time there, he graduated from the intermediate choir through the concert choir and into the select chamber ensemble. He began to hone his conducting skills while still in high school.


Joshua is entering his second year of study pursuing a master's degree in choral conducting at the University of Cincinnati College-Conservatory of Music. He is currently a member of the Cincinnati May Festival Chorus. Joshua has been director of the St. Barnabas Youth Choir since August 2019.
