Youth Group 9/11 Volunteer Service

Youth Group joined Habitat for Humanity of Greater Cincinnati's Rock the Block team on Saturday, September 11, 2021. This was a day of volunteer service in tribute to the individuals who were lost and injured in the attacks, first responders, and the many who have risen in service to defend freedom. Dave Lantz and the St. Barnabas Youth Group spent the day weeding, landscaping, laying down mulch, and painting. By the end of the day, the youth felt proud of their work as they saw how the house had been transformed. It was a good day with memories, good food from La Soupe, good opportunities for service, and in the end, bettering the life of someone who deserved it.

The Youth would like to especially thank: John Nolan, who helped us organize the event and get signed up; Chris Dolan and his family, who was our site manager and also worked with us; and lastly for Maaike Chertock, who came out with the youth, shared her knowledge of landscaping and helped everyone make the house look fantastic.

Special thanks goes to Marius, Joshua, and Kendall, who came and worked incredibly hard, were still able to have fun, and kept a positive attitude throughout the entire day. Please be on the lookout for future Youth events in our Ministry Matters, Youth and Children's emails, and general announcements.
