Janet earned her Bachelor and Master's of Music degrees in piano performance from University of Cincinnati College-Conservatory of Music, where she was a student of Michael Chertock. She has enjoyed leading the St. Barnabas Handbell Choir in addition to playing piano and organ at St. Barnabas services since 2001.

The Handbell Choir rings monthly at services, at special services, and rehearses throughout the church year. The group often collaborates with the St. Barnabas Adult Choir and Youth Choir in ringing and singing together at St. Barnabas services. Both youth and adults are invited to ring and participate as a family, and no experience is necessary as the Handbell Choir always welcomes new members.
