Joshua Goines

Director of Choirs

Conductor, organist, and composer Joshua Goines was hired at St. Barnabas in 2019 as the youth choir director. In summer of 2020, he became Director of Choirs with responsibilities that extended to conducting the adult choir in addition to the youth choir.

Joshua is a native of New Orleans, LA which is where he first discovered his love for music. As a member of the New Orleans Children’s Chorus, he discovered the professional world of choral music and that fueled his decision to become a music major. Joshua has a Bachelor of Arts in music with an organ emphasis and (unofficially) conducting from Andrews University. Currently, he is pursuing a Master of Music in choral conducting from The University of Cincinnati College-Conservatory of Music.

Upcoming projects include conducting Mozart’s Requiem at St. Barnabas in November 2021, the annual Lessons & Carols service at St. Barnabas in December, clinician for the Ohio Conference of Seventh-day Adventists choral festival in Spring of 2022, and arranging/recording a new album with soprano Natasha Barbieri.

When not found in school or rehearsal, Joshua enjoys cooking because of the shared ability between cooking and music to bring together people from all walks of life to sit down and share an experience together.
