Forward Journey Retreat

Saturday, March 5, 2022

2:00 PM

Dear St. Barnabas Leaders, My grandfather was a sailor and I grew up spending many summers sailing on Lake Erie, learning to push off from the shore and trust the boat and my grandfather to take us some place new. There is a saying “A ship in harbor is safe, but that is not what ships are made for.” I am reminded that we are invited to launch out into the deep, to travel with Jesus on a journey to reach God’s people and share the good news of the kingdom of God. How will we set sail together? Where are we heading on our journey? How is God calling us forward as the people of St. Barnabas? Nick and I want to invite you to join us on the next stop of our Forward Journey. We will gather on March 5th for a day of prayer, reflection on where we have been, and space to dream together about where we are headed. We are excited to spend some time discerning these questions together about our purpose, our desire to stretch ourselves and grow in new ways, and to think about how we will work together as a team to achieve God’s mission for us. Please plan to join us starting at 9 am and stay until 4 pm. Lunch will be provided. Come with an open mind and open heart and a willingness to engage in conversation as a leadership team. We are grateful for your presence with us on this forward journey. Faithfully, The Rev. Canon Jane Gerdsen Nick Trelka Rector MCL of SPOD
