VIRTUAL Christmas Party 2020!

We’ll adapt our traditional activities for a socially distanced evening. To do this, you’ll need a computer, a recipe OR decoration, a drink, and a trivia question.

Here are the details:

2019: Gather in a parishioner’s home
2020: Zoom!

Have fun with your background! Maybe sit next to your Christmas tree or choose a festive virtual background.

2019: Bring an appetizer or dessert to share at the party
2020: Recipe and Decoration idea exchange

Since we can’t share our food, we’ll share the recipes. Not a cook? Share an idea for holiday decorations.

Recipes should be for appetizers, holiday side dishes, or cookies/desserts. Any decorating idea is welcome.

Please send these to me by Sunday, 12/13/20. I’ll compile them into a collection to distribute at the party. Names will be included on all submissions. If you have pictures, that would be great! Send them, too.

2019 Beverages will be provided
2020: BYOB - Bring Your Own Beverage

Pour a cup or glass of something that gets you in a merry mood and log in!

2019 White Elephant Gift Exchange (optional)
2020: Donations and Trivia

In lieu of a gifts, if you are able, donate to St. Barnabas Outreach or a charity of your choice.

Note: 12/1 is Giving Tuesday. Many charities have donors that will match gifts made today. If you choose to donate to our Findlay Street Outreach program, please make sure your check is dated 12/1 for your contribution to be eligible for matching funds.

Instead of the White Elephant Exchange, we’ll entertain ourselves with some trivia. Each person should prepare one trivia question and answer. Please select a question from one of these categories:

- Christmas customs around the world
- Christmas food around the world
- Christmas drinks
- Christmas music
- Reindeer
- Winter

There won’t be any prizes for this contest, just bragging rights for the winner. Well, maybe also a mention in Ministry Matters.

That’s it. Big thanks to these ladies for joining me to plan the party: Mary Ann Boyd, Laura Leigh Hahn, Ruth Harrison, Jean Miller, Margaret Nelsen, and Glenna Spell.
