Altar Bread Bakers

Volunteers have baked bread for Holy Communion since the very beginning of St. Barnabas. The leader of this ministry became involved because she wanted to do something for the church that could be done quietly and behind the scenes on her own schedule. She found that the baking process allowed time for quiet contemplation and prayer. For consistency, the recipe is available with instructions.

Scheduled on a rotation throughout the year

Altar Flowers

Donate an arrangement of altar flowers ($50) on a Sunday in celebration of a special occasion, in memory of a loved one, or in thanksgiving. Sign up on the bulletin board by the Nursery across from the Great Hall, and the Church Office will place the order.

Weekly opportunity to sign up. Please visit the bulletin board outside the Nursery room to sign up, or call the church office.

Intercessors stand near the pulpit during Communion to offer intercessory prayers. The prayer requests may be for the person coming forward or for others. Some examples of prayer requests are for healing, guidance, forgiveness, safe travels, strength, recovery, or loss. All prayers are private and strictly confidential. Life threatening situations would only be shared with the priest in charge. Intercessors are not there to hear confessions.

Please talk to Pastor Nancy or Pastor Jason if you would like to be an intercessor.
