WORSHIP RESOURCES

Modified In-Person Services

From September 20 forward, assuming Hamilton County does not return “red,” we will begin modified, in-person services in the sanctuary. Reservations will be required for all. Please review guidelines below.

We will continue to offer a pre-recorded service, premiering at 8 a.m. on Sundays

After the service, join us for our Zoom Coffee Hour at 11:15 a.m. Joanna will help us celebrate an agape meal. This is a sacred rite that all can participate in at home with their own food and drink, but without the consecration of the bread and wine… so it’s not quite Holy Eucharist, but it’s close.

St. Barnabas is executing a COVID-19 safety plan intended to comply with all applicable laws, rules and orders.  That said, the building cannot be made risk-free.  By signing up for this in-building activity, you are acknowledging the risk of gathering in a congregate setting due to the contagious nature of COVID-19 and voluntarily assume the risk that you or those attending with you may be exposed to or infected by COVID-19 by participating in these activities.

Guidelines for Modified In-Person Services

We recognize this will be a different service and not what many are accustomed to at St. Barnabas. We also know many are not ready to return yet and look forward to the online services which we will continue to provide. In fact, in some cases, we ask you stay home and enjoy our online service. If you:

  1. Are feeling unwell, coughing, or have an elevated temperature on Sunday morning, or

  2. Have been in close contact with someone who has, or is suspected to have, Covid-19, or

  3. Are considered to be part of a high-risk group

we ask that you stay home and take advantage of our online service options. We request this out of caring for you and our fellow parishioners.

  • We'll start by offering one Service of the Word at 10 a.m.

    • We will not yet offer Holy Communion. Based on guidance from the Diocese, it's possible we may begin celebrating the Holy Eucharist later in October.

  • Reservations are required. We will be limiting attendance (initially, no more than 50 people) to adhere to social distancing guidelines.

  • There will be no hymnals, Bibles, prayer books, or printed bulletins.

    • A link to the bulletin will be provided in advance of the service for people to print and bring to the service or view on their own smart device during the service.

  • Masks will be required for all persons in the building. If you do not have a mask, one will be provided.

  • Enter through the red doors and maintain six feet from other household groups.

  • Some pews will be roped off to help maintain social distancing. You are welcome to sit in any open pew.

    • We ask that as you enter the building and find a seat, you take care of your fellow parishioners by maintaining social distance guidelines of at least six feet. Ushers will be on hand to help with seating and ensure social distancing.

  • Passing of the Peace will be done socially distanced with friendly eyes, caring waves, and nods.

  • There will be no passing of the plate, but we will continue to offer many ways both online and at church to fulfill your pledges.

  • Exit through the red doors by row, starting from the back of the church.

  • There will be no in-person coffee hour, Sunday school, or nursery.

  • The Great Hall, Library, Undercroft, and balcony will all be closed.

  • We will continue to have a pre-recorded service released at 8 a.m. on our YouTube page.

  • We will continue to have a Zoom Coffee Hour at 11:15 a.m., with an agape meal blessing.
