Meet Our Vestry Candidates

Julie Colegrove

After discovering the Episcopal Church while traveling, my husband and I found St. Barnabas the old fashioned way. Google. That was over 14 years ago. The red doors have become an increasingly important part of my life. Retirement has given me freedom to travel but when we’re away I miss the spiritual (and physical) embrace that St. B. provides.

I’m honored to be called to serve on the Vestry and look forward to working as a team as we enter this exciting phase in our parish.

Gayle Ingram

I hold a B.S.E. and an M.S. from Purdue University and bring more than three decades of analysis and leadership experience supporting defense and aerospace missions. My career includes 23 years with the U.S. Air Force focused on weapon system acquisition, 10 years in private industry, and 3 years consulting with Department of Defense customers. I live in Liberty Township with my husband, Marvin. We are blessed to have our sons Mark and Grant, daughter-in-law Alexandra, and granddaughter Rory in the Cincinnati area.

I found St. Barnabas in 2024 and knew it was a special community as soon as I walked through the red doors. I love the church’s warm and inclusive nature as well as the energy of the parish. St. Barnabas provides the perfect environment to nurture my desire for a deeper relationship with God.

I appreciate the opportunity to serve the St. Barnabas community by serving on the vestry. It is so important to give back to this community that has given so much to me on a spiritual and personal level, and I want to volunteer my time and skills to help support the mission and future of St. Barnabas.

Chris Muia

I have been a member of St. B. member since 1996 and over the years have served as Jr. Warden, LEM, Sunday School Teacher, Facilities Maintenance and Bell Choir member.  Presently serving as Percussion Team member and Acolyte Trainer/Scheduler.

I have been married 32 years to wife, Jeanne. We have two daughters, Claire (25) and Olivia (22).  I enjoy gardening, fly fishing, drums and bass guitar.

The sense of ‘home’ and ‘family’ is what I appreciate most about St. Barnabas.  Our family’s church as a I grew up felt like a second home and we found that feeling at St. Barnabas, which is why, for a couple years in the early 2000’s, four generations of my family had claim on the fourth pew, left (facing altar).  My grandparents are no longer with us and my parents attend remotely.  My wife has been busy with caretaking for her mother and my daughters, well, they’re in their 20’s….but St. Barnabas is still ‘home’ to my family.  Along with the feeling of belonging, Fr. Hill’s welcoming invitation to ‘Take up your cloak’ and serve continues to be a theme and is another aspect of our parish that I truly appreciate.

Continuing the ‘Take up your cloak’ theme, I feel called to serve on vestry in this very exciting time in the history of St. Barnabas.  The growth of our parish family and physical growth of St. Barnabas’ footprint is a turning point and I feel that I should be involved.
