To honor St. Francis of Assisi and his famous care of animals, St. Barnabas hosts an annual Blessing of the Animals Sunday. This year it was Oct. 9, and the church was filled with barks, meows and crying babies, all wonderful sounds, one can imagine, to Jesus' ears.
